i am not sure, but the main problem for bike, making you real tried is up-slope. may be it solve the stair-problem (in bike friendly city, no such problem ). all i see in the youtube is flat or down slope.

Yes, you point out the main issue, I also think that this bike is difficult when going up slope.

But I think this is cool and easy, but the design could be more light and compact to increase competitiveness.
